My Dear Members of PAAMA,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah.
May the Lord of mankind open unto you the gates of His mercy and may He so ordain that you are always accompanied by the supplication of His angels. Ameen.
As you know, in our Community today is known as Masih Maud Day – the Promised Messiah Day! It was indeed one hundred and twenty-six years ago today, on 23rd March 1889, that the most devoted servant of the Holy Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (on whom be peace), commissioned by Allah Almighty as the Promised Messiah of the Latter Days founded the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam. It was a Movement destined to grow and flourish despite all the concerted efforts of its opponents, both individual and governmental, who over the years have hopelessly failed in their purported objective of wiping Ahmadiyyat off the face of the earth. Ahmadi Muslims have met cruel, bitter and sustained persecution with resolute courage and determination, with resignation and patience, with steadfastness and fortitude and with undisturbed and serene humility. In so doing they have transformed barren deserts around the world into spiritual colonies.
The grand prophecy vouchsafed by Allah unto the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) at a time when he was hardly known beyond the borders of India that “I shall carry thy message to the ends of the earth” has been fulfilled with resplendent glory for all to see. The phenomenal progress made by the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam since its inception – now established in 206 – bears witness to the Divine origin of the Community and gives effulgence to the truth of its Holy Founder (on whom be peace).
While we can, therefore, take pride in being counted among the followers of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) in the full realisation that Divine support is with us, today is not a day for pomp or circumstance. On the contrary, we should proclaim the glory of Allah, celebrate His praise, affirm His Unity and invoke His blessings on His Noble Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and upon the Holy Prophet’s servant, the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).
Please also remember our Beloved Huzur (may Allah help him with His manifest support) in your prayers that Allah crowns all his endeavours with unlimited success and enables him to continue leading the Community of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) to loftier heights.
Remember in your prayers all the pioneer missionaries of the Community through whose exceptional sacrifices the seeds of Ahmadiyyat were planted in various countries across Africa and other parts of the world by virtue of which many of us today are counted among the fold of Ahmadiyyat. Please also pray for the devotees of today scattered around the world for the propagation of the light of Islam and for rendering services to humanity.
In various countries, a lot of Ahmadi Muslims have paid and continue to pay the ultimate price with their lives merely for professing belief in the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) – the latest in an ever growing list of martyrs being my very own cousin who, only two days ago, embraced martyrdom when he was fatally shot in Karachi, Pakistan, by opponents of the Community. They and their families deserve our continued special prayers as do those of our brethren languishing in various prisons merely for professing and practicing their faith as Ahmadi Muslims.
Kindly pray that we, as an Association, can acquit ourselves in our various responsibilities so that we, like our forebears, can be counted among the helpers of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).
May the continued victories of Ahmadiyyat witnessed by you strengthen your faith and characterise it with sincerity and devotion. May Allah so ordain that you leave all darknesses behind and be illumined with His light. Should you fall into sin or error through your human weaknesses, may He enable you to encompass so much of good in His cause that it might become as though you had never sinned, for good wipes out sins. Ameen.
May Allah kindle in your hearts the flame of His love and may you constitute palpable proof that those who offer sacrifice with full devotion in His cause inherit His love. May praising and rendering thanks to Allah be your constant preoccupation and may the fountains of eternal joy burst forth from this great source of His remembrance. Ameen.
On this Masih Maud Day, my dearest members of the Pan-African Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, I pray earnestly and fervently that you become heirs to all the supplications made by the Hadhrat Masih Maud, the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). Ameen, thumma Ameen.
